Trying to write an effective, unbiased review of internet security software is very similar to car shopping. One cannot realistically test drive each and every model on the market before you form an opinion or make a recommendation. The same problem exists when we look at the many different computer internet security products currently available for the home computer user.

As a customer looking for the best internet security software there are some specific features common to most quality internet security programs that we need to be aware of, and most important, that we should pay close attention to how they are rated when reading any internet security software reviews. These include

• antivirus details
• antispyware comments
• additional security features
• ease of use
• ease of installation and setup
• customer support
• customer testimonials
• pricing (one price verses yearly payments)
• computer operating system it works with (for example Windows XP, Windows VISTA)

Another very important consideration is whether you are looking for a single focus security software or an "all in one" often called an Internet Security Suite program.  So rather than looking for one security program to protect your computer against virus programs and another to deal with spyware issues, etc., many home computer users are buying the "all in one" or security suite programs which provide multiple security for a much lower price tag than buying individual programs.

For the purpose of this review, we will be considering the internet security suite programs due to their increasing popularity and price savings for consumers. I am not saying that buying an internet security software dedicated to only one type of infection is necessarily bad, however in most cases you will want to have your computer protected against a variety of malware types, and not just one such as spyware or adware.
