  As you may expect, there is no single clear cut winner, however there are a number of internet security suite programs that scored consistently high in all of the independent reviews sites visited during the research phase of this website.

For your consideration, I would like to offer the following 3 Internet Security Suite programs as all very worthy candidates for the "best internet security software" available at this time for the home computer user. Below each program I have include a few good (Pros) and not so good (Cons) things about each based on my research data. Since these three internet security software programs are rated highly by most reviewers, there are not many "cons" that are serious enough to be listed. Obviously each of these quality programs has many more features than are listed here on their respective product websites.

BitDefender Total Security 2010

Pros:

• firewall protection is one of the best 
• antivirus protect is excellent and has fastest scans
• anti-spyware is excellent
• parental controls
• variety of user profile settings
• easy setup

Cons:

• scanning decreases performance speeds on slower/older computers

 ZoneAlarm Internet Security Suite 2010

Pros:

• firewall protection is one of the best in the industry
• antivirus protection is ranked as one of the best
• anti-spyware is excellent and has unique features
• parental controls
• easy installlation

Cons:

• phone support (if needed) is reported to be expensive

Cons:

• slow start-ups reported by some users after Kaspersky was installed
• new safe "sand box" testing mode slows computer down

 Having a top quality internet security software product is only one part of the equation when we consider general internet protection.
